Tax Credit: Adopting Dogs and Cats May Result in a Tax Break

May 31, 2015 According to an article I read on the Best Friends Animal Society site, the Oregon legislature is considering a bill to give individuals who adopt a dog or cat from an animal shelter or rescue facility the opportunity to receive a $100 tax credit.
What a great incentive for folks adopting animals from their local shelters. I’ve seen a lot of posts lately about bills supporting animal welfare issues and it’s about time. Shermie found me when I was on pet finder and looking casually through pics. Bruiser also find me through Indigo Rescue, an organization that works hard to pull animals from our local shelters and put them in foster homes. If this is the incentive that will get more folks adopting than let’s pass it! How many other states have this bill already in place? Vote yes on Oregon Bill 796.
