Chewy Box Arrived: Delicious Merrick Treats!

Why we need treats? Lots of them…

1. I walk my dogs three times a day (each dog so nine walks)
2. I walk my older dog – very slowly – around one block
3. I take our other two dogs to nosework once a week
4. I feel sad my older dog doesn’t get to go but two dogs is a lot as is so he needs treats
5. I try and take the dogs on a few adventures each week: to the park, for a hike, etc.

Merrick Treats! To the rescue! Merrick’s Wild Prairie Real Chicken Jerky has been our go-to all week.

Our Treat “Journal”: Treats play a big role in our daily routine and overall happiness.

1. We need treats that break into tiny little piece for Puzzle Toys 
2. We need treats for Sherm’s reactive behavior on leash so on every walk, we carry treats
3. We need treats for Nosework – we use Strip Cheese and typically their dinner
4. We need treats for clicker training at home, we practice wait at every meal
5. We need treats for positive reinforcement throughout the day –e.g. when we don’t bark in the window, when the mailman drives down the street
6. We need treats for when we get slipped and taken out to pee before bedtime
7. Generally speaking we use them anytime we go hiking and run into other dogs or wild creatures

Phew! That’s a lot of treats. Thank you Chewy and Merrick for sending these as you can see this has a large impact on our day.

Why I love them: Rosemary extract is an ingredient! Why is Rosemary awesome? At the top of its medicinal attributes are its “carminative” properties; it relieves flatulence!
